Meet the Owner

After the Marine Corps, James decided to attend Colorado School of Trades in Lakewood, Colorado to obtain an Associate’s degree in Gunsmithing. While living in Colorado with his wife JoAnna, James managed a local gun shop, worked gunsmithing, and gained certifications in multiple NRA disciplines (Pistol, Personal Protection Inside the Home, Refuse to be a Victim, and Range Safety Officer). James was also an owner of Strong Tower Security, a company that focused on security consultation and training for faith-based institutions. In 2017, James completed his undergrad in Disaster and Emergency Management from American Military University.

Before relocating to Pike Road, Alabama in 2021, James and his family lived in Boone, North Carolina for three years working as a Global Security Analyst for Samaritan's Purse.

Owning and operating a gun store has been a dream of James' since 2013. James and his family felt called to open Pike Tactical in order to serve the community as a local gun store who puts people over profits. At Pike Tactical, we believe that God has been pushing us to this time and place for many years. When you look at the Pike Tactical logo, you will see the Cross before Pike Tactical, and all the way through it. Pike Tactical is a testament to Jesus' goodness in our lives, and we will never hide or shy away from that truth.

Meet the Dogs

Meet the Pike Tactical greeters! Benelli (black) and Beretta (brown) are part of our family and they are at the shop with us, daily. They are super friendly and love to greet our customers - sometimes to a fault! Give them a little love, and they will be sure to follow you around the store and help you pick out your next gun.

If, for any reason, you are uncomfortable with dogs, let us know. We can put them in timeout while you shop. Not a big deal!
